Folian Quatrefolic is a food supplement containing an incredibly active and patented form of Quatrefolic folate in the form of methyltetrahydrofolic acid, in which

400 µg is equivalent to 800 µg of glucosamine salt of (6S)-5-methyltetrafolic acid.

Modern preparations contain a very well-tolerated and absorbable form of folate in the form of the glucosamine salt of (6S)-5-MTHF acid.

The folates used in the Swanson supplement are twice as effective because they contain pure and highly active acid (6S)-5-MTHF, which has not been reduced to salt form.

Natural folic acid in food is active, but artificially produced folic acid must be metabolized by the body into 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) to be used.

Today we know that folic acid is subject to a complex degradation process and despite supplementation, you can have a serious folate deficiency.
